A project from bureauofcommongoods.com, Made by Hand is a new short film series celebrating the people who make things by hand—sustainably, locally, and with a love for their craft.

Giant Cardboard Robots, was created by Jason Lentz and he shows off his impressive cardboard exoskeleton at Maker Faire 2013. He also sells the giant arms on etsy here.

Modern Renaissance
shows the work of skilled artists/designers creating humorous images of celebrities as classic paintings.

Pete Ware has created these lovely typographic posters, using letters to create famous StarWars characters. They are A3 (16.5 x 11.7 inches) and printed on 280gsm card, which means they will fit into any standard A3 frame. Check them out here.

A mother wolf breaks into a hunter’s den and takes back her cub, only to find it a motionless trophy. She sings a lullaby hoping that the cub would finally sleep. Little does she know that a young hunter stalks them back from the den.

Darren Healey, a Manchester based graphic designer, has a created a series of posters which use phrases and stationery graphics to inspire readers.

Beth Galton has created a series of photographs of the cross section of different food. Glaton says:

“Normally for a job, we photograph the surface of food, occasionally taking a bite or a piece out, but rarely the cross section of a finished dish. By cutting these items in half we move past the simple appetite appeal we normally try to achieve and explore the interior worlds of these products.”

Rä di Martino, a New York based photographer, went over to Tunisia to photograph the abandoned Star Wars set for her series “Every World’s a Stage” and “No More Stars”.

Phipps lives in a fisherman’s shack in Tasmania that his family’s owned all his life.
